I put around 800 lbs in the back locker, 750 on the floor next to the seat around 500 lbs up front and fill stock balast only on the surfside. trimplate 3/4 up.
Contact the Owner from wakesurf magazine as well. A very good guy and he also had a Calabria Pro V and he will let you in on his secrets for how he weighed his boat down. Pro-riders have said that he has had one of the best surfwakes that they have ridden behind.}
600 lbs in the back, then lead bars under the seat up the side, 500 lbs sack in the walk thru and 250 lbs sack in the bow on the side, plus 4 girls on the seat.
sorry guys/gals I forgot I posted here. @mn">D@mn Laci thats pretty sweet. That is my boats wake huh. It's a pig when I weight the sh*t out of it. I'll try putting the fat couch in next time, I wasn't running near the weight I should've been. Tom I have an 02 Cally with the fixed cavitation plate. I dont think they put the power trimplate on til 06. How do you like the new Pro V? Does it cavitate when turning dups? How is it @ higher speeds? Can you reduce or eliminate the porpoising with the trimplate?
John the 06 is sweet. It has lots of new touches, right and left fuel filling, ballast guages, power trimplate, huge swimdeck, tons of chrome, etc. We were doing a little over 40 mph on the way back and had no problem with porpoising. All in all I am very pleased.
Excellent choice in boats Tom. I've noticed that the Pro V is the most spacious boat in 21 foot boats. I definitely won't pass it up when I go to upgrade. I know now what I dont like in the Pro V and when I test drive a new one hopefully all is taken care of in the 06-07's. If not I'll either look at the Supra 21v or the Wakesetter VLX.
Oh eah the ballast on my Pro V is'nt right or left fill only, it's both at the same time. No gauge just put your hand over the blow hole and if it's not pushing air out, you're full. Right and left fueling, thats bad @ss!
Simple setup: Stock Ballast (both) filled Single 750 Pro X sac in the port locker (not usually filled totally due to the battery on that side) 2-3 kids sitting on port side (to the rear). Produces this...(I'm 6'1" and a big guy btw for perspective)
