i am looking at building ballast system for my 200vrs and plan on putting two 500's in rear and 250 in ski locker(small locker) and probably 150lb of lead in nose. i was wondering if i want to fill system fast should i tap into raw water intake or can i use the center drain plug hole. i only pull boat out of water midsummer and end so don't really need drain hole. attwood pump will thread into or through. also which size aerator pump does everyone recommend.

I think you need to put a valve first - then the pump. If your hose leaks without the valve you have a problem using the drain plug hole. I think the 1100 pump would work fine.

I am looking at doing something very similar to a sunsetter vlx. I was wondering if an aerator pump would stop the flow of water when it is off or would you have to shut the valve on and off for each use

If you use an aerator pump, you will need a shut off valve to stop the flow of water. I would get an elbow fitting that runs to a jabsco water puppy type pump to fill. I dont believe you need to close the shut off valve if you do it that way.

will the stock drain whole be enough to fill the tanks. I see most people use 1 1/2 in through hull. I was hoping to use the stock in the ski locker and the stock plug near the v drive to fill the 2 rear sacks
