Looking for some feedback on riding in this area. I may have an opportunity to transfer to this area (Lowes Grove specifically) and was wondering what the boat/lake/riding situation is. Any input would be useful.

Thats right smack dab in the middle between 2 nice lakes, Falls Lake & Jordon Lake.
Don't hesitate to move here. Do it yesterday. This place is wonderful.

Lots of other "local" lakes as well (within an hour's drive) Like Harris, Hyco, Mayo, Kerr, Gaston. Good scene on Jordan, Harris, Falls. Always easy to find a pull. Heater shirts come off in April, Don't go back on til late Oct/Early Nov.

Thanks for the info guys, endofropegang seems to have some great info on it. I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be any housing or affordable housing on a lake in that area. Is that true, or am I not looking in the right places?

No housing on Falls or Jordan, both are surrounded by Army Corp Engineer land. Like Xgirl said check out Endofropegang.com Great site!

Work in Raleigh/Cary and live about 35 miles east of Raleigh. Scene is pretty good here are there are a lot of good lakes close by. Kerr is my home lake and it's glass 24x7.

As far as affordable housing on a lake goes? Not so much. I am looking into getting a spot at Kerr just to park a camper on. The Army Corp controls most of the lakes here so you can't have anything right on the water if they are running the lake.
