Anyone wakeboard there anymore?

My brother does. Water fluctuates with tides, it's cold and there are jellyfish. If you can handle that, water is butter most of the time.

I take it you mean the "Foster City Lagoon"?

Can you still board this time of year or is it emptied in the winter?

It's gets drained this time of year. I used to ride there with Matt VDA. It cools off much faster that the delta. Matt still lives there.

San Mateo/Foster city is windy most of the time. The lagoon gets it's share of good water for sure, but it's blown out often.

Living there is the ticket. Boat on the dock 24/7, wait for it to glass out, and hit it!

Some riders claimed the brakish was harder. It definitely felt different. Faster.

foster city lagoon used to be my backyard. like jrod said, wait for it to glass out then hit it! just make sure you hose off as soon as you end your run. that water is nasty!

Joe is spot on with that one. Wash off completely. That water is straight from SF Bay and is nastier than the Delta for sure.

Theres always glass no matter how windy it is. If the san mateo side(where matt & tony live) is choppy - then you go to the FC side(slalom course) or vice versa. Ride there all the time - no matter how hot it is, im in my dry suit.
Real shallow spots too, dont be surprised when you eat it hard and come up with mud all over your back.

$50 per launch these days.

Thats unreal Migs. I mean, I guess if you are really dying to ride its an option. I just remember what that water looked like when I was in high school. I can't imagine it getting any better.

Spent the last couple months in Foster City and can say that lagoon is butter as long as there is not too much wind.

the houses do a pretty good job blocking the wind most of the time. Plus the channels are fairly narrow.

I remember this being a pretty blown out day - so we ended up just hittin d-ups at the turn around(mateo side - launch side) you can see even with it being super windy, the water still doesnt produce big rollers.

Next time I come home I might have to hit up the lagoon for a set. Really is the best place close by in that area. I think I might need a dry suit that doubles as a haz-mat suit.
