Wes pointed this lens out in the non-wake forum, but I know there are D40 owners who should be interested in this lens. You didn't previously have an option for fast, inexpensive prime that the D40/60 would auto-focus. I think you guys will want this lens.

I'd be interested in trying one out. The price is great too.

Similar to the Canon 35mm f2 in price and I would think performance and build.

If you already have a 50 f1.8 I would bet OA performance would be similar. (it certainly is with the Canon versions of the 35 and 50)

Rich - I'll assume that you have them both in Canon. Do you find oyourself using one more than the other?

I'm shooting a D90 and thinking that I'll pick this lens up to have the full-frame 50mm equivalent. Wondering how much I'll use the 50mm once I do and if I should keep it, or pass it on to someone who could use it.

I use the 35 a lot for interior, candid family type stuff when I don't want to use a flash. 50mm is considered a normal perspective on FF / 35mm and with a 1.3 or 1.5X crop sensor the 35 is near the same.

I don't know that I need both but it's not worth selling a 50 f1.8 and neither takes up much room in the bag.
