I've looked thru the archives and I'm still looking for some educated opinions on the jl 12w6v2 sub. I've ruled out the W7 for power reasons. Here's what I've got: Fosgate 6001bd amp which the spec sheet says puts out 673w @ 2ohms rms @ 14v and the sub is going to be mounted in a sealed box under the drivers dash. Is this amp big enough or am I dreaming. Should I be looking for a different sub. The amp is currently running a 12w3 sub(250w continious) and the sub can't keep up. The jl web site recommends 500w for the 12w6v2...is this real world? The rest of the system is RF 800/4 for tower, RF 400/4 for cockpit, and 2 Optima blue tops. Sorry for the rambling and thanks in advance for the advice.
I too run 2 of the 12" W6 V2's. They may be a bit overpriced if full MSRP but the quality is generally pretty good. Would I buy 2 more at my $250 ea price? probably.
Where do you guys put the extra subs? I have one in front of the driver's feet, but can't imagine where to put others without them being hidden in a locker or something. Does that dampen the sound?

I used to have 2 JL 10 W6 V2's It didnt hit as hard and sound as good as my 1 12 W7 so I too the 10's out and added a 2nd 12W7
This is in a AIR Nautique, with less room than a Super. If you have a Super you have plenty of room. I have a friend with a SAN that has 2 12inc ID max sub's at the drivers feet.

Mike; You have to be creative when tackling this job. Basically anything thing that’s in your way need to be re routed, 90% of everything needs to be cut and line/wire added to make the longer route to make the added space. The shift/steering cables were Items that had enough slack to be re-routed with out adding length Thank God. If you’re interested in seriously doing this I can give you more detail/photo's via E-mail to avoid showing off. LOL
forgot the pics 2 10W3v2's on a 500/1. this is my first real system in a boat and i love how it sounds. would have liked to go with W6V2 but these provide enough bass for the main seating area.
You put the second sub down in the storage compartment...Does that muffle the sound much - do you tend to put the hatch up when listening? It seems that bass frequencies would penetrate pretty well, but I am looking for someone with experience. I would place a second sub exactly where you have it, so that I don't have to drill or cut anything. Demolishing any of my fiberglass scares me.
