Tower Thoughts

1) Anyone see the latest BU Illusion Tower?

It is now a solid design. It looks better. They have also added a new pylon hoop to eliminate the rope on the racks issue. Yet, it still blocks entrance from the side. And, it still is awkward for speakers and bimini.

2) Does anyone else think the new CC tower is a lot uglier than the original FCT? Maybe it folds easier... but why not follow the wind-shield line.

3) Any ideas on how Boss can avert the CC patent?

-> Ship the tower without a pylon and call the tower a speaker/board holder. Just happened to have a convenient spot for an after market pylon.

-> Put a pylon on the tower that telescopes down to below 5 ft for pulling riders but goes up to get out of the way.

-> Patent other concepts of tower accessories to smack on CC (best defense is a good offense).

1. Haven't seen it, but hate the old design. Don't care for the appearance and really don't care for the idiotic blocking of where everyone gets in and out of the boat. That tower appears to me to be a case of being different just to be different.

2. Yes. I have not seen it in person, but from looking at it in pictures I much prefer the old FCT. CC made a number of changes this year that lead me to the conclusion that the '03 is a much better boat than the '04. If I were in the market right now I would try really hard to get an '03 that a dealer was trying to dump.

3. I did some patent litigation for Taylor Made Golf when I was still with my old firm. Very complex area of the law.
