I finally upgraded to the Pro X sac and love it but the quick connect comes undone if I'm not watching it as it fills/drains. Is there a trick I'm missing. I'd rather the water end up in the sac instead of the bilge.

Start with the red collar retracted all the way, firmly push and seat the female end over the male which is screwed into your bag such that the black clasps engage the rim on the male fitting then push the red collar on the female fitting all the way down to lock the the clasps closed.
You want to make sure there is no tension on the hoses/fittings. The threads they use on the bags themselves are shallow and short and it is possible to knock the fitting completely out of the bag if you are not careful - which is why we run two bilge pumps (one a high capacity unit).

Are you referring to the quick-conn's on the W709 Tsunami pump? If so, wipe away some of the silicone grease for the o-ring, this adds a little friction to the connection. Also, before dropping the pump/hose in the water, give the whole thing a twist in the "locked" direction, and then lay it over the side.

Sorry for the confusion, I am talking about the connection between the pump/hose and the sac, the part that makes the quarter turn to lock in place. Are you saying to add some grease to the quick connect to add friction? I tried the twisting method but I obviously need to add a few more twists to hold it "locked" in place. Is there grease you recommend to add friction?
Thanks for the replies.

Fly High ships the fittings with quite a bit of silicone grease to keep the o-ring from drying out, wipe some of it off the o-ring as well as from the inside of the female connector. Never thought I'd say this, but in this case, too much lube is a bad thing
