My dad has a yacht and wants to put a small boat up top as a tender. We go to the Bahamas for 5 weeks every summer and i can only ride behind a jetski over there so it kind of sucks. It would be awesome to take my boat but it wont fit up top and can't be towed, it would probably sink going through the atlantic. Anyways is there any ski boat, whatever year, that is 18ft or less and has a dry weight of under 1600lbs, I figure this probably doesnt exist but is worth a try.

Thanks in advance

I was just looking at that, 18ft and you cant go wrong with a nautique. Do you know the weight? Can it through a descent weight if weighted?

My bad its actually 16, that boat looks perfect and i did a search and supposedly it can through a pretty good wake when weighted. If any one has seen one for sail that needs alot of work and is cheap let me know. It would be a salt water boat so i would like to find one that needs a new engine, and id be redoing all wiring, screws, etc, so it would be saltwater friendly.

Tough problem to have.....the 5 weeks in the bahamas just enjoy the bahamas, spear fishing, and drinking....wakeboard before you leave and when you get back...

The yacht should do 22 and the wake would have to be pretty decent if you trim it right. Tow from the flybridge and you've got lots of height on the rope for air time.
Of course it's a long set if they make you ride all the way.

Good luck Manny, as you can see I don't actually have any useful advice.

I dont know about wakeboarding but I've been dieing to try wakesurfing behind it, but it looks like you could be sucked in by the props. As far as the boats me and my dad were looking at the ski tiques and the correct craft mustangs. Do you guys think these could through up a good wake. My dad actually got really into it after seeing some restored ones and wants to get one to make a project of it and have a beautiful little tender that could also double as a wakeboarding boat lol

I go to the Bahamas often. As much as it would be nice to have a Ski Tique to board behind, it's going to make a lousy tender.
I would just get a Wailer or other brand of center console open fish. It may not be great to board behind, but it will be a much more functional tender.

We have 24 center console that we tow, and right now we have 2 jetskis ontop of the boat but my dad wants to sell them and get a small boat up there, thus the idea for a little ski boat.

Keep the jetskis and get the mastercraft csx to replace the center console, problem solved.

I would think the 24 center console would put out a pretty nice wake. Check out correctcraftfan.com for lots of info on the older nautiques.
