Just wondering if anyone rides the massive barndoor of a board called the Era 147? I ride a LF Balance 144 now, and like it a lot, but would really love to demo a bigger board, just to see how it feels. I'm 6'5", 250lbs. I figure that there has to be a reason all the pros who are 5'8" 160lbs are riding 141's, and I should try out something equally as large for my height. Thanks for the feedback.

Mike McMillen rides that thing and loves it. At your size... I'd try it out. I couldn't see you being unhappy. Its the same great shape, only bigger.

Just a question on what david said, why are the pro's riding such big boards now. I'm 6ft2" and 70kg (i'd imagine bout danny harfs/eric rucks size) and always thought my ideal size board would be bout 138-9, i'm on a 140 which is great, but noticed that they're riding even bigger boards now.

I'm not sure why that is, but my reasoning is the same on that Harry. On a side note, I'm pretty sure Harf weighs more than 150lbs (probably more like 180 or so), and isn't as tall as you say, and though Ruck is over 6' tall, I'd say he weighs slightly more than 150. I'd say that you are looking pretty good on a 140 unless you feel unstable on it, simply because you don't weigh very much. On the other hand, when I went from a 140 to a 144 (and a much wider board in the Balance), I noticed a huge difference because of my weight... I'm thinking I'm going to try and pick up a blem Era 147 from somewhere and see if I can get a deal on it...

I've been riding the 147 for a few weeks now and I love it. But I am switching to the 145 state. I'm only 6'1" and 200lbs and always used to ride 140's, I thought that was perfect for me until I tried these boards and now I'm totally convinced that the 147 or 145 is perfect for my size. I've seen quite a few pro's in person here and they're way smaller I thought they were and they ride such big boards. It only makes sense for me to ride a board this big.

Kristian - want to sell me your Era 147? Also, what do you notice as the major differences between the 145 State and the 147 Era? thanks.

I have rode them both. As long as you are under 240lbs the 147Era will be great. It is fairly quick, stable and good pop. Anything over 240 and the 2.8 rocker is just too much and it will feel a air sluggish. Still figuring out the era. I don't think you'll see any of the pros riding a 147 any time soon. This is just an expand size for their shape- not their actual board.

jason - you said anything under 240lbs on the Era is great, and then you said, "still figuring out the era." Did you mean you're still figuring out the State? I go about 250 - do you really think that the Era 147 would be too slow because of my extra 10 pounds from what you mentioned you thought was ideal, given the big rocker for that board? You're a big boy, what do you ride?

Dudes, I've ridden the premeir 140. easy get up and easy edge. I'm 250 and went to the era 142 mostly for a little more board and they look soooo cool. era bindings seem to feel great with no extra pulls on the straps. I ride loose.........I expect to get more preformance with less stress.....just my thoughts.........I'll keep you posted when i actually demo..........sometime in may....my na##'s can't take the cold.
