Has any one had a problem keeping the racks in place? Mine do fine until we put the boards in them, the weight of the boards cause the mounts to slip on the tower. We have tightened them all the way and even tried adding some tape on the inserts, to increase the size but still no luck.

Any advice would be great!

My Nautique's tower is hard anodized, very slick. The racks were turning so I tood a little 320 wet/dry and sanded under the rack mount, also sanded inside the clamp. Problem fixed.

But no way could I take sandpaper to that new powder coat.

MikeSki I think means to rough up both sides of the black Delrin insert and inside the rack clamp. Give us a call at 877-77-Tower and have Tom get you new inserts if that does not fix it. Also, make sure everything is clean and there is no grease on the parts. I bent a fork last year with a rope getting caught on it and it never moved. It should hold very tight or something is not right.

I have the same issue. I am afraid to clamp it down too tight.

I think if you rough those black collars up a bit, you should be able to get em to stick. Or maybe get a larger collar from MT.

Monster Tower rocks. Enough said.

Todd, tighten them to about 20 ft lbs or "all you got" as they need to be tightened. If you brake anything give us a holler and we'll replace it.

About a year ago we got some inserts that did not have the correct material mix and you may have that insert that needs to be replaced if tightening it well does not make it hold real well.
