closer to what?

perfection?
warm enough to ride in banana hammock?

70 degrees is excellent. I'd BEG for some 50 degree waters right now.

I know it's torture to you guys. But I have been in South Florida for 23 years. Back in San Diego where I grew up if the surf temp hit 70 I would be in it all day. But alas my blood groweth thinner with time. 75+ for this guy.

75+ ??? Holy crap! If that were the case around here, there wouldn't be a wakeboarding scene at all. We're lucky to hit that by the end of the season.

I did the polar bear ride this year for the first time. 36 degree air, 41 degree water. Really wasn't too bad with a dry suit. Until of course your first crash. Holy cow!

I'm plannin for my first run when I'm back home in Green Bay on the 13th of March. We'll have to push the ice out of the launch, but we'll get out there!!

I'm in Eastern NE, so I'm not familiar with Lake Minatare. Checking out the map though, I'd say you're better off going to McConaughy. As long as you can get your boat in the water (levels were really low a couple years ago, but they're predicting 6 concrete ramps open this year) it can be really good. It's HUGE, but many days you have butter for miles - not a lot of boaters out there

If you're coming out, get ahold of me, I'd love to meet some more WW-ers
