from the look of the pics, he was leaning over his toeside edge a lil bit too much, and his knees werent bent enuf. when sliding backside you really have to end ur knees alot, or have an amazing balance thats almost unheard of. cool photos though. where was this event.

It's hard to tell from the pics (i have got to get some video up) but the rope didn't get slack. He accidentally got the handle up too high, and the board slid out from under him.

This wasn't really an event. It was at the Carlsbad lagoon on thursday. This box is going to be used at the big slider comp at Del Mar next week, so we assembled the box and slid it to make sure there weren't any bugs. If you want to see how the pro's do it, check out DelMar fairgrounds on the 15th-19th (i think).

Buzz,
Yeah should be a good show. This was the first slider I ever hit, and I was able to do some kinda cool tricks, I can't wait to see what the good guys can pull off. This box is 4' wide, 4' tall and 40' long. I'm thinking 1080's? 1440's?

I don't think LF sells them. If they were to start selling them they'd probably be like $4000, theyre huge!

He's banged up pretty good, but he's ok. His chin hit, but then the helmet took most of the impact from the slider. What really hurt him was the fall into the pool. At that part of the pool, there was maybe 2" of water. Both his knees got slammed into the concrete bretty bad. I guess he's ok though, he went to Joshua tree to go climbing this morning. The cameraman's name is Russel. I met him on thursday, cool guy with some really nice equipment. All these pics are screencaps from the video, hopefully I'll get it posted here soon.

Those sequences ARE awesome! Nice to hear that Geoff is alright.

So, Steve, did you crash at all? Just curious. You definitely looked pretty smooth up there. I wish I was going to be in town this weekend.

Technically, I was the first person to fall. But it only consisted of me slipping near the beginning of the slider and sliding on my butt the whole way down to the pool on the other end. After Geoff's wreck, I stopped riding.
