subwoofer swap out...what is this wiring?

my JL 12w3 is a goner. i want to replace it with something that's setup the same so i can just swap them out and not mess with the amp (i can't remember exactly how everything is wired and am feel'n too lazy to re-learn it all).

ok, so i had a 12w3 d2- dual voice coil. the (-) lead from one coil is hardwired to the (+) of the other coil. how many ohms is it pulling?

i'm leaning toward ID Max...which sub would look the same as the JL to my amp??

its wired in series, so you add the voice coils together. either 4 or 8 ohms depending on the vc size

It's a 2ohm DVC so it was running at 4 OHMS so just get the ID Max that's 2ohm which would be the Image Dynamics IDMAX12CRD2. I've read in here that the IDQ's are better for a boat application in that case you'd want the Image Dynamics IDQ12V3.D2

I have the IDQ12v3.D2 and it sounds awsome.the only thing I would change is to put it in a sealed box. ported sounds great but missing that tight bottom end..

the best price i've seen for IDQ12V3.D2 is $279 w/free shipping from woofersetc. anyone seen a cheaper price?

CDT is really good but more known for the seperates and mid bass drivers than subs. Don't know of anyone cheaper than WE for ID.
