I'm going to be acquiring a new wakeboarding boat soon (long story). I want to pick colors that will make it easy to sell. Are there any colors that you would recommend? It's a Mastercraft X2.

Really, the colors that mastercraft uses are all pretty well accepted colors. Just be careful of some bad combos. Are you going to go with standard or metalflake?

i agree with michael z.... If resale is your main thing look at the colors that have stood the test of time. Black and White always will. Metal flake and some of these other colors definitley are super cool, but who knows if they will be very popular in the future? Maybe they will or maybe they won't....

I have more questions for you. What's the difference between the X2 Switch and the Slider? And would any of you recommend getting some of the options? The standard features seem pretty good, but I need some advice!

Sarah, check out Mastercraft's website, www.mastercraft.com and click on the X-Series boats, then Design a boat and you can get a visual of all the color schemes and options you can get!! the difference between the slider and switch is just in the gel. On the slider, the color changes on the transom, like so. and on the switch, the colors are like so, I really like the slider on the 07 and earlier models, but I'm not a fan of the slider on the 08's the bullseye is a little two much for me, I think the switch looks classy, and you might have a more marketable boat!!!

Thanks Josh! That's really helpful. I did the design a boat at Mastercraft and it did seem like the only difference was the paint scheme. I agree with you that I like the switch better. Thanks for helping with that decision! I think I'm also going to do some scheme with blue and white.

I don't know about boats but studies show that yellow is the worst color for resale value in vehicles.

Black and Red are solid performing colors and pretty sought after depending on the boat. White is boring but very easy to maintain. (Message edited by 05mobiuslsv on January 22, 2008)

Definately go with orange. You don't want to have a boat looking like everyone else's do ya?

I look at it this way....Black and white boats are a dime a dozen. I wanted something that will stick out and is unique. I went with yellow and black. Last I checked a yellow corvette is still bringin top dollar. I think orange is black is a great color combo but thats my taste.

I don't agree with Terry Hyra. just look at my profile. I think yellow boats look very sharp. Also I think green, orange look sharp.

I was just stating that studies show yellow as the worst resale for vehicles. Maybe the color suits a boat better.

Look on the water. Most boats are black, dark blue, or white. I like oddball colors because you can recognize them but I'm an oddball.

Another for black and yellow. Just not bright yellow. We have more of school bus yellow. Pops on and off the water.

You can get away with colors on a boat you can't get away with anywhere else. I would just make sure the boat is optioned right. Most people buying a used boat are more worried about cost than the color.

red is classic, but red and blue would look good to!! Bringin back the stars and stripes feel would be a great selling point for most MC'ers!!
