Is my boat ok for wakeboarding??

i have 2005 four winns horizon 170 the wake is a pretty good size looks like all the others from all the pics but i dont have a tower or anything, do you guys think if i get a tower that i could become a decent wakeboarder behind this boat and pull off some tricks? its a ski boat and everything and it pulls well....what does every1 think?

personnaly i think that if its just to have some fun, hanging out with friend making a bit of everything you will have a lot of fun all day long, but its like everything in life if you become CRAZY of wakeboarding you will be more and more peeky on wake size, boat toarque, capacity of storage and everything and this boat will be a trade in at your closest dealer for sure in 1-2 years. Its not all about the size of the wake its also about is hardness, shape, and how far you can ride it before it become washed, whats one of the problem on most of the I/O i my own.

I have an I/O w/ a tower, and yes you can wakeboard behind it. If you get serious about boarding, you will want a towboat. The thing that is frustrating is the hull design....it makes for a very inconsistent wake, even with weight. I have a Bayliner 20' w/ the 5.0. But don't let my opinion and experience discourage you. If you plan on keeping the boat for a couple, maybe few more years, then buy a tower for it. I know I am thankful for being able to get on the water....until I can afford that vdrive!

Any boat is all about having fun. When I was a kid we put more hours on a 1973 viking deck boat with a 115hp johnson than most do in a lifetime. We did a lot of 3 event and barefooting behind that boat.
My point is unless your some closet pro rider, your boat is great for getting out and having fun. Thats what its all about.

Cosmo get that trim to the same spot every time, a good lower pitch prop and look into perfect pass. Your wake and pulls will be way more consistent.
Zach some people can do backrolls in the flats so just imagine what they can do with a little bit of a wake

backrolls, and 3's are not out of the question. You need to be able to drive consistent and make the wake the same every time up and you will get better.
Tower helps but is not the main factor in riding good and landing tricks.
