Clarion marine deck came with 06 VLX

We just picked up our boat 2 weeks ago. The stereo is sweet except for the deck. It only plays cds, does not have any EQ controls at all, no sub out etc..... There is a ipod hookup with the boat but it will not let you shuffle the ipod or display what is playing.

We want to get a MP3 deck, but are concerned about it working with the transom remote and the remote on the dash??

Anyone have any experience with this? Can we substitute a standard car mp3 deck in there?
