Has anyone ridden the Shaprio board. I love the way it looks, but havent had the opp to ride one. Im curious of how it rides in comparison to the HL Parks or LF Trip?

Cliff, I have been riding the Shaprio board and it rides almost exactly the same as the belmont. Give the belmont a try and se ehow you like it. It is a fast board.

I have tried Jeff's Shapiro 138 and I own a Parks 143. I only took one run with the Shapiro and my initial thoughts were positive. Like any board, you should definetly demo a board before you buy it. If you decide to demo the Parks, have the boardshop switch the 1.3" fins out for 1.1" or .7" fins. The 1.3s that the Parks come standard with are way too grippy.

I was thinking the shapiro board would be grippy with 3 fins each side.

they are totally opposite boards....... shaun and darin's boards are very similar. they tested and worked together a lot on their boards even though they have different sponsors. I like the belmont. I have ridden a shapiro and liked it a lot too..... it was the 138 with the lighter core. Try the parks before you buy it..... I didn't care for it very much. just my $.02 worth.

Hated the Parks, not a fan of the Shapiro. Feels like you have to work too hard to get good pop. Plus it's an Obrien...I'm not a big fan of what they represent. My $.02. Born and bred on Hyperlite. Have tried most boards on the market, and nothing comes close. I do think that CWB is gaining huge momentum though.

Yeah... what do they represent that you don't agree with? Your CWB statement was the only thing that made sense.

O'brien, Liquid Force, and CWB make some of the best board shapes on the market, and O'brien doesn't represent anything but a good company making a quality product at a fair price. Take your hyperlite blinders off. As far as the shapiro goes, the other guys have said it right, comparable to the belmont not the parks. If you want something to compare to the parks, try the o'brien vision- which is just as fast, much lighter, just as much pop even with continuous rocker (so more consistent), and half the cost of the "far superior" hyperlite parks

I know one thing, I have had two obrien boards and I sent on back because its end split open and the newer one is not holding up at all. I am not a big hyperlite fan, although the byerly from last and this year is pretty cool, but they do hold up better than obrien. My oppinion is that obrien is a perfect example of you get what you pay for.
