Anyone using rotella oil in boat.

Unable to find Penzoil marine locally.. So i got on mastercrafts site and all they require is an oil that meets SJ/CH 4 standards.. which the new rotella triple protection does... Just wanted to get feedback from others before pouring it in... Thanks

I have not personally but have heard of many on Moomba message board that do... I think it is quite fine for inboard apps... good chance I might next oil change... helps that it comes in large jugs!

I use Rotella 15w40 in my boats. I'm of the mindset that oil is just oil though. I use it because it is priced well, comes in large jugs, and has a good reputation.

Started to buy the 5-40 synthetic.. supposed to give better milage.. but was 17 dollars a gallon...

Oil is just oil. synthetic doesn't really have any advantages other than not changing it as often, however I would rather change it more often to keep the engine cleaner. Of course my input is from engineers at the auto manufacturers themselves. Take it or leave it.

I've used Rotella in all my boats. Never a problem.

Why not use Cheveron Delo-400. Its really cheap and meets all the standards.

Using the Delo-400 I can change my oil for $12 including NAPA Gold oil filter.

I have been running Penzoil for about 400 hours and I spending $20 alone on 6 quarts. Would it be ok to make a switch to delo 400.

There is no problem switching to Delo from Penzoil you'll be fine. Costco has Delo for really cheap, but so does everywhere else.

oil is oil aslong as its the correct weight it wont hurt anything. hell the other day i changed the oil in my motor home and used honda outboard motor oil because it was the same weight, had some extra in the parts room, and was out of the normal stuff i use.

I use it in my tow vehicle. Rotella synthetic.
