Good wakesurfer

Hi i was wondering a good wakesurfer for a begginer and will be able to advance on? i weigh 150 and am 5'6" my uncle would like to buy me one for christmas!
landlock?
lf islander?
skimskate?

just give me some info please dont know mush about wakesurfing!

Here is my response to a similiar question on another thread.

The LF Skim Skate is an underrated board. I have the 54 inch. It kills it and heres why:

It is very easy to spin and break loose. No huge fins and its bi-directional. 360s and 180s are easy.
It reacts very well to speeding up(leaning forward) and slowing down (leaning back).
I have never taken a nose dive. I find the Land Lock does this alot.
Very cheap price compared to other surfers.

Disadvantages:
Dosent fit in traditional style board racks.
Takes a big wave to stay in the sweet spot, buts not a big issue if you have plenty of ballast and people.

Its more of a trick, skim style board than a bigger crusier like a land lock or traditional surf board shape.

It all depends on what you want to do. I don't have much experience with the smaller trick boards. I surf so I prefer the traditional surf style board like the Shred Stixx (blowfish). It's good for floaters and cutbacks, much like surfing a small waiste high wave. 360's are possilbe but you probably won't have any luck with kickflips. Just remember one thing, Wakesurf more/Work less!

I'm with Pierce. Love the SkimSkate, it's a very small board but I believe it handles well. In the beginning it can be hard to find the sweetspot (Landlock or so will be easier). But when used to it I can even surf behind an empty SAN with only 2 people in it. I'm approx 180lbs.
