This is the newest version of the Clarion Marine head unit. I'd like a unit with a marine remote, and neither of the installers I'm considering stock the Sony units. The Clarion Pro units are not compatible with the marine remote.

For anyone with the NEW XMD3 in their boat, any feedback will be appreciated!!!

Brad,

I have to admit I hate the Clarion products. Mine stopped playing CD's about 2 weeks after the warranty, and it's just not a very good unit (XMD2). Fortunately my co-workers cousin works at Clarion so he fixed it for free, but I am only keeping it until I can decide what real stereo I should buy.

I have installed and recommend the Sonys because of the availability of their own wired remote, as well as wired remotes from Access Technologies (http://www.access-tech.net). I would recommend ordering the stereo from somewhere else and having your installer put it in. I think you will be a lot happier than you will be with the Clarion. Another feature the Clarion doesn't appear to have is MP3 support.

Ryan
