I had one. The finish on it lasted about 6 months.

I had some last year and they were pretty good. They are fog type lights so they don't work very good for driving around, but work great for surfing and wakeboarding.

Here's a pic of my old one on an 07 SSV. I made this one. I used lights with amber beams to reduce teh attraction of bugs during the summer. The beams are more spot than flood. The flood beam patters will blind you pretty bad. I have since switched to all HID lights, but at $500-600 /pr it gets pricey when you have 2-3 pairs. My lights are literally life savers. I live on the lake and am out on the lake almost every weekend nite during the summer.

These are the lights I'm using now, I have both flood and spot beam with the HID's.Flood are on teh rear and spot are the front. They are all 55W HID's, not 35.

I think I might do KC's running forward and flood lights going backwards. That way I get the best of both.

$600 for lights? Are you freakin serious? That's ridiculous!

600$ for lights or crashing a 60k boat at night?

:-)

Dont buy fusion. If you have a warranty issue or just want replacement parts your sol.

Tower lights actually make it more difficult and dangerous to navigate at night!

I've got 3 handheld spotlights to use just in case. The OEM foglights that came on my Supra were bright enough to see to teh transom, and that's about it. After 2 years, I still haven't found a use for them, so they're gone. Lights shining into nothing but open air in front of you serve no purpose.

I actually spent around $1500 total for the lights. HID's are expensive. Unitll you used the HID's it's hard to believe the diff from a traditional 55w halogen bulb.

Tigemike, with my bimini up ( z-5 cargo), It's like I literally have a sun behind my boat lighting up a path.

I run at nite with a GPS and lights. I can think of three times off the top of my head I would have hit large debris had I not had the lights.

Running at nite is dangerous, and I don't put a price on trying to be as safe as I possibly can.

Glad to hear you guys are able to make the lights work for you. I've been living on the lake (actually four different lakes) for over 20 years & 4 boats. We drive on the water probably 3 - 5 nights a week in the summer.... with only the handheld lights. And don't have problems.
When it's night, we slow down.

Two years ago some guys were on our lake with their lights on. The neighbors got pretty bent out of shape & start shooting a shotgun in the air. So be considerate when your using them.

About 5 yrs ago at SeaFair some guys out on the race course had a bunch of towels hanging over their tower & lights. Somehow someone turned on the lights. I'm not sure how long it took, but they had a helluva fire going at some point. Made a royal mess of a nice new boat.

i agree night is dangerous.
but im n construction and when the sun is up were working.
so that leaves night time.
and with a 50k boat that sits 4 months out of the year im using it when i can.

i will say that aftermarket acessories are pretty damn expensive these days
