and offered up the following url as a link for information on putting the boat up in an escro sale? www.escro.com

I asked for more information as im very leary of this kind of thing?

I GUESS he puts the money in an account and has the boat shipped and when he gets it i get the money? I call BS but tell me if im wrong?

I have sold many boats locally and have never heard of this? can some one please tell me more about it? or is it scamm?

Most escro account transactions are scams. If you go that rout, do some research and find a escro company yourself and insist that he use that. If it is a company from the buyer, kiss the boat and money goodbye!

NEVER sell or ship a boat without payment in full. This is a scam, without money in hand you are putting yourself in a very dangerous situation.

dont do it.

I did mine thru a dealer so it was a little different. I wired the whole amount to the dealers bank account.

You need to have the money in hand, or have them wire at least half of it to your account, make them give all details, ss#, employer, do a credit check on the guy, home address, work address, and references if you go about it another way, do not use an escrow account unless you know what you are doing.

The guy is probably just as leary as you on the deal and that is why he want's to use the third party escro service. I'd ask a dealer to complete the transaction like slipknot suggested and pay them their fee for it. That way at least you have someone with some skin in the game..

I agree with nu bu... He is probably just as leary as you. I wouldn't want to send that kind of money without having the product right then. I would suggest YOU finding a company that will handle escrow transactions and do it that way.

Seems like it would be pretty safe then. You would not send your boat until all the money was placed in the account.

Just do a little research and make sure you are comfortable with the terms that the escrow company sets up. Ask all the questions and get it in writing.

i said it before and i will say it again. this buy it and ship it c--p is b.s. buying a boat is expensive and personal, not a joke. you buy a boat you come see it sit in it drive it get to know the owner and make a deal. cash or a real bank you bring the money to me you get the keys. thats it, i sold my sanger to a guy in az, he saw the ad was on a plane to cali the next day. he trans the funds to my bank part of the deal was i would shrink it and drive to b field to meet him for delivery. funds were in my bank before i saddled up for the drive. thats it, good old american business. dont be nieve or stupid and you wont get ripped off. I HATE SCAMMERS WITH A PASSION!!!!!!!
