Does everyone "name" their boat, even if it's a wakeboard boat like a SAN, MC, Malibu, etc??? I've been asked if I have named it and I never have, so I was just wondering what everyone thinks. Holla

ive had 2 boats in my lifetime. we named out old boat but havnt bothered to name our sea ray. i have never seen a named wakeboard boat. i think the reason could be because the majority of people who own them don't keep them for long periods of time. if you think about it, having a new boat every year or 2 years and then trading it in is better than having one boat for 5+ years.

I'm thinking about getting "Malibooty" on mine ... I'm an attention whore, sorry The previous owner named it "Gitter Done". Cliche and totally unlike me, but I didnt put it on there ... Is is bad luck to rename someone else's boat?

I named my previous three boats, but have not named the wake boat. I registered my boats with the Coast Guard (supposed to save taxes, etc.-they figured it out), and they require the name of the vessel and the hailing port to be prominently displayed on the stern of the vessel. This only applies to vessels 27' and over. 35' Cigarette Playboy edition-Hare Raizin' 29' DCB cat- Phat Cat Seen hundreds of cool names, some really stupid as well. My son wants to name our 24V Tige`- Eye of the Tige`. Kinda cool.

I have all kind of name ideas, but don't put one on my boat. I just call her "BETTY". Gotta love the Betties!
