Hey guys does anyone ride the northern portion of the Delta? We are looking for some good places to ride out near the Sac area. I have seen places like Brannan Island Park, Tower Park, Terminous, Windy Cove..Isleton.. are these any good for boarding? I am not too familiar with the Delta so sorry for the lame question. We have been riding the river quite a bit but wanted to see what else was out there.
Thanks in advance.

Larry, wish I could help you out but I am not familiar with that area. I ride out of Disco Bay and Tracy. I've been to B&W outside of Lodi/Stockton which was really nice.

I'm sure someone will jump on here soon and give you some tips.

We ride from the Knights Landing launch in the Sacramento River. We were out today, and only two other trucks were in the parking lot, both fishing boats. The water is in the 50's, but it's smooooth.

Pretty scary right now with the water level so low. There's some serious debris up in the KL area. Cars, trees, motorhomes, cement blocks, angle iron, you name it. The water is so low that we're seeing underwater snags we've never even seen before. Theres one or two 18 inch diameter stumps coming up out of the water, almost dead center in the river. Lots of stuff that was only 6 inches under water last week. I don't know how we haven't hit anything yet.

Vieira's Resort / 916-777-6661 http://vieiras95641.tripod.com/
1 mile west of ISLETON.
I live in Brentwood and we trailer up there often. It is one of the few places to launch in the area and the Sac river makes turns so you can get out of the wind and find wide flat water. We were up there this past week. launched at 7:30, glass all day and only saw 2 other wake boats until 12:30. Camp grounds, food, bar and slips if you want to stay the night.
