Hello,

I have a 1999 Centurion Elite V and over the weekend while boarding my guages would almost max out. Fine while idling. Also my stereo shuts off while boarding and it's fine while idling. Problem seems electrical. My depth guage was suck as well and one time my RPM's read 5000 going about 10MPH. Could my alternator be going bad? Boat runs fine during all these issues. Any sugestions would be great.

Thanks,
Justin

I'd clean and check all your grounds from battery to engine and dash cluster. Check voltage with a multimeter while it's doing this, but alt going out and fluctuating voltage shouldn't act like that.

Seems like more than one problem. I would also look at the impeller and its water path, to make sure it is free of debris.

Not bad to check impeller, but if your coolant temp is rising and getting into overheat range your oil pressure will typically drop, it will not increase or peg your gauge.
