Not a major problem yet, but I'm worried about it becoming one. It seems that after a couple weeks or longer, it takes forever to start up the Sanger. I've got it in neutral with the drive disengaged and some throttle on. Still, the engine turns over for quite sometime - two to three 15 to 20 second spurts before starting. I'm worried about excess work on my starter among other things. In an EFI engine, why might this happen and what might be the cause?

The plugs are new, spark arrestor clean, gas is new as we're using the boat often.

sounds like airleak in fuel supply causing it to lose prime

I should add once started for the day, it runs fine for the remainder.

Fuel pump check valve? Could also be the fuel pump, along with leaky injector(s), and many other things. Current ramping would tell the condition of the pump, and a fuel pressure gauge will tell the rest of the story.
