Cool, but how are points earned, what does this mean?

Every team rider earns points for each of his teams. Points are listed ont Prowakeboardtour.com and kingofwake.com. 1st place is 100 points, second 90 and so on. So Rusty earned 100 points for MC and Hyperlite and his other sponsors while Danny earned 90, Chad and Adam 80, etc.

Only pro riders so the PWT stops are much easier since there are no women and no skaters.

First time I've seen this point system, but it seems a little off. Here's a hypothetical:

Rusty gets first place in 8 comps in a row
Danny gets second

Points:
Rusty 800
Danny 720

Rusty falls early in the next comp and Danny wins, so Rusty has 8 wins and Danny has one.

Points:
Rusty 800
Danny 820

IMO, first place should be more weighted, the same way that the money is. Just my 2 cents.

Using the same point system the Pro Tour uses, the same point amount is tallied up for each individual riders team,as they acrue for the season.
Kind of a cool breakdown really, interesting results. Bearing in mind, there are companies out there that really don't push competitions and some that do. I like it, thanks for the breakdown.

Thanks team Valdez. Now I feel validated with J-Rod, Hair and now Valdez. I would like to post the actual results somewhere so people can see them.

Teams that have a lot more team riders obviously will score better but that is cool. We want to see more kids getting sponsors anyway.

Billy- Those were just examples. Phillip did win. As far as the point system I am just using theirs. I could create my own values for placement but this is the first time for doing this and it is just for fun. My plan is to make the companies want to win the competition and this becomes huge. I will charge teams to be part of this, creating a large value to the idea and then I sell it all too Google and quit my job- just snowboarding and wakeboarding around the globe.
