Our family is leaving for Lake Powell on Wednesday and I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations on places to anchor the houseboat. We're leaving from Bullfrog Marina, we would like to stay within a decent range of the marina. Most of the suggestions I've seen on here are from Wahheap, so just looking for some tips. Thanks

we love going out of Bullfrog, not nearly as crowded as wahweep. up to the end of the Escalante arm is awesome , a bit of a treck in those slow houseboats, but worth it. or head north and there are some nice coves within 2-3 hrs. on houseboat...have fun, love that place

We've gone to Hansen Creek Canyon before and found some great spots. It's North just around the corner from Bullfrog.

I also recommend the Escalante Arm. The area has some nice sandy shores for the houseboat and the riding is good. Also, dangling rope marina is not that far for fuel. On the downside, it is a trek from Bullfrog.

I'll be down there Saturday to Wednesday. We usually just go over to Halls Bay. It's one of the closest spots and is a large area, but with that you get more crowds. Its only about 15 minutes away from Bullfrog. The middle of the week is usually good but it gets a little crowded by the weekend.

You can go into halls bay, its no more than a half hour drive and has some nice beaches, but the closer you are to the marina, the more boats you will run into.

Iceburg Arm is awesome. Escalante is sweet but it is a trek and you will spend a fortune in gas to get down there. Iceburg Arm is a couple of hour trek in a houseboat and it is far and long enough to get some good water and not burn a ton of gas. Once there just hope in the wakeboat and head up to Escalante for a day trip and you won't be dissapionted.

Iceburg Canyon is AMAZING. Escalante is great, because not a lot of people go up there, and you ALWAYS find PERFECT water. Anywhere north of Bullfrog is good, not a lot of people go north of the bay.
