How did you mount the crossovers inside the cans?

I bought my set last fall but havn't touched them untill now, and want to put them together. I followed the video but somehow I don't like the idea of velcro holding my crossover inside the can.

Anyone who has done another method care to share?

I actually followed the video and have them mounted with velco. No problem so far but this is my first season with them. I spoke with Ken and he suggest making something out of spray foam. I thought about maybe doing that and encasing it in a waterproof bag but I thought that lack of air might do more damage than just a little water.

I mounted mine in the cans with spray foam worked great

can you mount the crossover on the sides or does it have to be at the back behind the speaker?

For those of you that have these speakers installed, how has the performance been? I'm considering upgrading to an HLCD system and these are on the list. Any input and suggestions would be appreciated.

they cam be mounted on the sides if there is clearance but remember a little foam goes a long ways once applied it almost doubles in size.as for the performance they sound great for the money got mine for $185 on e bay and $350 for the light bar speaker combo from DIY wake $535 total not including the amp

I wanted to chime in on the sound of the speakers as well. IMO they sound GREAT! I only have about 75 watts RMS going to them at the moment, but this weekend I started my amp rack install so I could install a new amp to power them, even with only 75 watts, they still get the sound out there, so I can only imagine what it will sound like with 250 going to them.

Also when I got mine, one grill and one crossover were damaged during shipping, I sent Ken an email and he had replacements out the door and to me in just a few days.

Only thing id recommend if you get his cans, are to use some thread lock on the 2 bolts inside the can that go to the mount that holds the clamp.

Did everyone ue the self tapping screws? I drilled and tapped mine and used 6-32 SS pan head Phillips for the actual speaker cover but i'm also going to use the other 4 holes and drill and tap for 8-32 pan head phillips.

Do you think this will be ok. I also plan on using the blue loctite to make sure they don't back out.
