Nicola is riding a Recruit at the moment. She started on a Severance, tried the Recruit for the 1st time last week and has stayed on it. She went from a 132 Hyperlite Syn to a 134 Severance to the 135 Recruit. Might be just a touch too big for her but she likes it.

hey chris, just wondering how nicola found the company boards for cable? Im guessing she liked the recruit more because of the added stiffness? Im toying with going with company but not sure what they are like with air tricks

She handles the air tricks fine. The biggest drawback is she no longer has moulded fins for cable. At the moment she uses her Severance for the cable with the smaller "cable fins"

my friend just got a 135 recruit and we will be riding it tomorrow. she is small so the board is a little big for her, but it will be way small for me but i will at least get the idea. ill try to post on it later.

Bizz, what makes it a jib fin? That sounds very interesting and would actually make me lean to trying out a company board. I refuse to buy a board without molded fins because i ride cable 95% of the time. I rode a ronix one in 07 and went through probably 10 fins, which got expensive and down right annoying. What is it about the jib fin that allows them to handle the cable and not breaking?? ps i just ordered a Sine because I wanted to try a flex board on the cable and it had molded fins. Sell me on a company!!

Jib fins sounds interesting to me too (despite i have never ridden cable) i am almost wondering if these "jib fins" are like the Humanoid "uretrac" fins: blunter, like wakeskate fins http://www.humanoidwake.com/gear/boards.php (put your mouse pointer over the pic to get a larger pic, they show the top and side view of the fin) Also humanoid is somewhere between slingshot and sine... when it comes to bottom features

We're actually not going to be selling the jib fins this year because we aren't finished testing them yet...

Company, is Nicolas dad talking about the standard fins that comes on the Severance, or are they different? I looked at some fins at Woly and they looked like they would hold up on rails.

Yup, those fins do in fact hold up very well on rails, and they come standard on all of our boards. We spent the extra $$$ on bomber fins for this very reason.

Which board is better for cable? I am going to Woly today to check them out, and maybe pick one up.

Quite honestly both series of boards are super solid for cable...Just go with your gut and roll with the board that gives you the warm fuzzies... Hi-5!

Don't know much about cable but I think it would make sense that the continuous rocker board (recruit) would work better. But don't hold me to that it just makes sense to me...

I just got back from Woly, and ordered a Super Limited with the Co. Boots. Now that I think about it, I really cant afford another board. But I got it anyways! I also tried on that Co. Vest in white. It looked pretty tight.

judging just from pictures i would say they (fin holes) are the same length apart,... i'll see what i can figure out with a quick e-mail, they are just emerging in the market and all

Mark, the company boots are awesome. im not a big closed toe fan, but even these are hard to resist not getting a pair. I rode them on a recruit yesterday and was very impressed with the control i had. everything was snappier. i liked them a lot. even with 3 fins the board was still super fun and easy to break loose when necessary.

Just got some details on the Humanoid Fins. fins mount in 1.5" increments same as Liquid Force (not sure about the other companies). the fins will come in .75" x 6" and 1.0" x 6" sizes. the fins are not available quite yet, but Humanoid is going to have a release date set and pre-sales up soon. ------------------------------------------------- this is just to paraphrase the email response i got. i am sure they will announce more from their site so check there often as the season approaches and thickens if someone with a Co. board can measure the fin holes distance apart, that will tell ya if the fins will work.

i am not near my slingshot board right now where i can measure it, but i will and report back. but i am guessing yes. hyperlite fins fit a slingshot and i think lf's fins conect the same way as as hyperlite. the one thing i am slightly worried about that i just barely thought about. when considering SS (and Company too i think?) is the fin holes are a larger diameter this year so the bolts might be a little narrow in comparison and might woble slightly... but i supose after it is tightened down it wont matter really?

Slingshot is 1.5 inches! I am betting that Co. is the same too! So the humanoid fins will fit Co., Slingshot, Hyperlite, and LF, and... well any others with 1.5" on the fin mounting ;)
