What are the thoughts out there to get the wake bigger and the face (sweet spot) longer, thus giving the surfer more wake(wave) to work with? More weight? Faster Speed? Both? Something else?

a big square chined non performance hull? watching how the water comes out from under the hull i dont understand how you could get a long steep wake .... i can build a massive tall wave that has no pocket length at all .... so flattening out the hull leaves less drag? longer pocket no massive wall .... having a snow plow shovel type of deal somehow behind the boat shaping a wave would be cool but how do you keep it attached to the boat?
so it seems to me a big high sided flat bottom boat or a single v bottom sunk down would throw a huge wave?

I think you would have to pull the shovel. I see it as more of a truck plow where the blade is off to the side a little bit! Great idea, but man would that be a fluid mechanics problem.

Otherwise, I think it is a combination of weight and speed. Test it out to see what gives you the best wave! Jon T

I think you have to find what is best for your boat and what you like. More is not always better.
