Hey guys I need to draw on your collective knowledge here for a question I have. My brother has an 03 Supra SSV with the Gravity Games Ballast. Now I believe that it has (2) 250's in the back and (1) 1000 center ballast (not sure though?). Either way his center bag is ripped and we were told by our local supra dealer to buy a center bag that has the 2006 bag dimensions. Evidently this is a longer bag which adds nose weight and cleans up the wake better when weighted heavily. Well they said the dimensions for the new bag are 16"x16"x84" which only gives it about 800 pounds. We would like to put the maximum weight possible in the center. Has anybody upgraded there center bag and if so what size bag did you use? Any info is greatly appreciated.

on the 24's the center bag has always been about 1100 pounds.

The original gravity games bags were 19x19x42 for the rear (545 lbs each to the seams) and the front bag was 19x19x88 (1143 lbs to the seams)

The problem with the original GG center bag is that the compartment (on the play pen version) is only 15" tall (deep). Therefore, there is no way that the original bag could get up to 1143 lbs because you could never fill it up all the way. Futher more, at 88" long the original bag was too long for the compartment. The compartment narrows as it gets closer to the bow, thus futher keeping the bag from expanding all the way.

It sounds to me that if your dealer now has a bag that is 16x16x84 that would be a better fit. The compartment is about 20" wide, so that will give this sac 2" on each side to expand past the seams. You can probably get 850-900 lbs out of that bag.

I run a 19x15x80 (820 lbs to the seams) bag in the front of my 2004 22SSV. I also added 200 lbs of 45 lb rubber coated weight lifting plates under the bow cushions. So far this set up has worked out great for me. I would definitely go with the new sac your dealer is offering. It will probably put a little less stress on your hydraulic shocks that hold up the center cushion.

I have the larger bag in my 21v. It is 1150 pounds. It is very long....it extends all the way underneath the front cushion of the bow.

After re-reading your post, if your dealer is telling you that by adding the new 2006 sac it will be longer, then you do not have the gravity games sacs in your boat. You may have the Gravity III ballast system, but not the GG sacs. As I said, the original GG center sac was 88 inches long. Sounds to me that you have the stock sacs that came with the boat, 250's in the rear and a 600 in the front (for play pen). If you have a walkthrough then you have a 400 in the front.

Richard is exactly right, I have the Gravity Games boat and the front bag will pop the cushion up in the bow long before it gets all the way full.

That 16x16x84 sounds like it should be a great fit, I'd think about upgrading the rear bags to the larger ones at the same time, you'll love the wake.

agree with Richard and Pete gg bag is 88 inches long and is 1100# and pops up front bow cushion you probably have the 16X16x70 which is 900 pound bag. supra need more weight up front and it is a sweet wake IMO wouldnt hurt to go with 2 500# bags in back also good luck

Jeff, I started out with he same set up you have but replaced the rear 250's with 450's then took my one of my leftover 250's and put that in front of the center bag. That plus one of the 85# water blocks fine tune the wake gives me around 1750. It's not perfect but I did add around 600#'s for minimal cost.

JHG,

That sounds like a really good idea. Were you able to plumb that into the existing ballast system? Did you just put a Y in the filler and empy hoses or do you manually fill it. Thanks for your help.

Where do you get the 16x16x84 bags??

I've got a 21V and that sounds like it would be a good fit.
