I was just curious if they make wakeboarding gloves, and if anyone wears gloves, and if so, what is a good site to get them from?!?

nah you don't need em, get a good handle with a nice comfortable grip. you will look like a newbie with 'em. I think jet pilot might make them.

get a really soft handle and you don't need gloves! i think the only time you need gloves is when the water and air is cold and your hands freeze!

I wear em. But then again I'm so 1970's. I just get regular waterski gloves from Ski Limited when they are on sale. I buy a few pairs at a time and try to get them cheap. Gloves are incredibly overpriced. Mostly I need them on the cable. There is no such thing as a decent handle on the cable. And air inverts on the cable generate a lot more pull than behind the boat. Behind the boat I can take em or leave em. I'm used to them from many years of skiing. No decent slalom skier would ever consider going without gloves. Your hands would be all blisters and ripped calluses.

If you want to use them or need to use them, go for it. Personally, I don't use gloves on the wakeboard, not enough tension. I do wear gloves for slalom and kneeboarding (yes, kneeboarding - you tend to rap your knuckles on the front of the board on front flips). I do wear gloves on cable - saves the hands since I only get to ride cable once a year. For cable - Clincher Ultimate. For blister prevention - Master Line K-Palm, StraightLine Classic Kevlar or Silicone (looks like moto-cross gloves). I have them on my website at www.boarditup.com. Do what works for you, not what the juveniles will tease you about.

Although I don't, I say if you want to rock the gloves, go for it. Be an individual. Being 24 is why TD thinks everything is gay...

take as many cheap shots as you want, but I still think gloves are gay. If you would like to defend your viewpoint as to why gloves are NOT gay, I'll listen.

Because gloves, fanny packs, quoting Yoda and having "dogg" anywhere in your name are all personal choices. Saintjo didn't ask your opinion as to what you thought was gay. He asked if anyone wore gloves and where to find them. You could have responded that no one you know wears them and that they make tricks more difficult. Or that there's simply no need for gloves if you've got a soft handle. Or that some older riders wear them, ala 1970's. All posts from other WWs. Keep your weak, immature crap to yourself and actually HELP someone trying to get into wakeboarding. That's why gloves aren't gay.

Gloves aren't gay, they're just for girly men (when used with a wakeboard). And some girly men are straight.

I think Thane Dogg lightens up most posts around here that people get all pissy about. Personally I think Thane Dogg posts are funny ass hell. I think gloves are funny looking, but if they help you, why not. My buddy wears gloves and could really care less what other people think. Everyone has an opinion and if you're secure in your man hood, why get all upset. Here is a pic of the stud I was talking about. Sorry Joe I had too.

MD - take a chill pill homie. I've helped more people on this discussion board than you will ever know; so, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since you've only been a user on this discussion board for 2 months. Here are some tips: 1. People post their opinion whether it's asked for or not. 2. Don't get all worked up over something on the internet. 3. Don't let people like me push your buttons. Now you're ready. Go get 'em! Nice boat by the way.

Jet Pilot has some gloves, I got some for cold water use in the late winter. They do help you grip the handle better and your forearms get less tired. If that's gay, then I guess using a fancy $100 carbon fiber handle is gay too. I got mnie from Parker Yamaha ( www.parkeryamaha.com). They also carry gloves by Slippery. My wife got those because Jet Pilot doesn't have a women's sized glove.
