Hello everyone: I'm looking at Liquid Force Star 111 with Micro boots for my daughter. She is 8 y/o and 45 lbs. What do you think? Anyone have this setup. I welcome all inputs. Thank You in advance

how tall is she? I'd probably go a little bigger - same board in the 119? unless she's really small for her age, the 111 will be too small, I think.

I have a niece that will be 2 in march and was thinking of trying to get a 111 star / micro for her. How young is to young, and any suggestions for the wee lil ones?

As long as they are comfortable in the water it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't start out pulling her behind the boat though, it would be better to just run along shore and pull her with someone in the water as well.

Taylor started riding the 124 when she was 8. I think the 111 would be to small

thank you for all the feedback. she is 4"1' tall. same setup comes in 118 and 124 as well. i looked at that 124 and my initial thought was "too big", but what do i know... the good thing is i have son two years younger so it will get dual use. unless he notices the girlie colors. lol. i'm fortunate that she has no fear. i will pull her on the boom first. sport chalet has 50% off on remaining board/boot. price goes from 300 to 150. i'm thinking (nike) do it!!

Alice - tks for the feedback Darren - thank you Daniel - i think only you can make that call. my kids were not ready at 2. i wanted them totally comfortable with the lake (big body of water vs pool), the boat noise, whipping out and the boat going away from you,... so we just tubbed and dragged on other silly things for two years. daughter was freaked out the first summer. son wouldn't even go out. now they are nuts!! and know all the signs and get that i can not hear them talk when they are out there Taylor - very helpful as well. Profile pic is amazing (too me). Wow!!! looks like i need to go bigger!!! another way to ask: should the board be taller than you? or shorter?

As an adult, you want your board to be much shorter than you, but I think with kids, the bonus with a bigger board is that it will be more stable, and they can also grow into it.

dont go too big because you want them to be able to have a lot of control of the board. also a bigger board will be harder to flip around when they are in the water strapped in face down. the 111cm star is rated at up to 70lbs so she has a lot of time to grow into it. the star combo is a great set up for kids because the boots are easy for kids to put on by them selves. i dont know why wakeboarders on this site always think bigger is always better.

As mitch said bigger is not always better. Taylor switched to the 124 because she was having a hard time with the shorter board when landing inverts/flips. Liquid did not have the 111 when he started. She started out wakeboarding on a 118 at age 4 1/2. For the younger ones as well as Taylor, we start them off skiing instead of wakeboarding. The younger ones seem more comfortable on trainer skiis rather than a wakeboard. This is just my experience hope it helps.

my son has 109 motive he is 6 years 45 lbs, learned on it and is progressing quite well, he will be moving up to 125 this year. I would start her out on the 111 till she gets used to controlling the board, and training skis also builds their confidence aj started skiing at 3 and got board and then it all started.....

she is 45lbs then a 111 would be fine as it is up to 90lbs (might be off a little). My son is 4 55lbs and he rides a 109, don't look at age because we adults don't look at height/weight.
