Hey guys, recently i decided to add a audio system to my older boat, a 1988 wellcraft 192 classic. Its in very good shape but i know, not your ordinary boat that should have a system in it. Originally the boat comes with radio that has 2 15w speakers. This past weekend i installed a system consisting of 4 rockford fosgate marine speakers running close to 50w rms a piece, a jvc head unit that runs 4 X 50w and a 1100w amp powering 2 12" kickers. I know, its a bit much for this boat but my problem is, is that when i turn the volume up to a decent level, the sound almost cuts out when bass is about to hit. Now i thought that i was just pulling to much power from the battery but when i disconnected the amp from the battery, the system still had the same problem. Then i thought am i still pulling to much from the batter with the head unit alone? Im not sure if a capacitor would solve this problem but i thought capacitors only hooked up to amp? PLEASE HELP!
