What would you get from the Moomba LS that your current boat does not give you?

Why are you looking to get rid of your boat?

I know what I would do, but what I would do isn't relevant.

Is this a joke?

Should I keep my boat and have ballast installed and the tower or should i buy the moomba. The moomba is www.aquamarineofanderson.com. I will see if can take picturs soon. Most pictures are of me behind the boat.

A. I think the LS is priced to high for that model year. B. I don't see much difference between the two.

Here are a few differences that jump right out at me........

1. One is a V drive, the other is DD.

2. One puts out what many would argue is the best "wakeboarding" wake ever. But for this thread....we will just call the wake, legendary.

Oops my bad for some reason I thought the 1997 super sport was a DD. So yeah i'd do the ballast on the CC V-drive before I would buy the moomba DD.

I would stay with the CC Super Sport Nautique for many of the reasons mentioned above. World class wake, V-drive, great overall quality and so many other reasons. There is a reason that a CC Super Sport from 1997 and a 2003 Moomba are valued equally (or at least close).

Turn around and run away, Fast. You or anyone that may ever ride with you will never be left wanting more with the SS. Definitely could not say the same with that moomba. Trading it for that boat would be a huge mistake IMO.

Supersport no question

Another vote for the Supersport. Can't go wrong with that boat. Get the tower and ballast installed. Depending on your skill level the ballast could be good with as little as some v-drive sacs in the back and a ski locker sac. If you want a great wake get a little over 2000lbs in the boat and you'll never need to upgrade boats again due to the wake size.

Unless you've picked up slalom skiing or barefooting switching to the Moomba would be a terrible idea. For less than 3k you could add a New Dimensions stock style tower and a full ballast system. That would give you more than enough wake than you'll ever need.

On the other hand the 03 mobius LS wake is miserable. My neighbor has one and we added 1000 pounds over stock and the wake was still disapointing.

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!?

That nautique has the best wake. Deffinitly put in a ballast system and use it.

I seriously cant believe what you are thinking about doing.

Nancy you need a new keyboard I think, for starters, not a new boat :-) Really though - why would you do this? It's not an upgrade even if the Moomba was manufactured yesterday. Create a custom ballast system if that's your druthers but don't do this.

There are several threads on planet nautique about installing a ballast system. Here is mine.

Search the site for others because there are at least two others s to get ideas from.

Nancy,

I think you should get the Moomba... Then sell me your Supersport. I've never seen a red 97 (didn't know they laminated then in red that year) but I'd like to see it if you have pics.

Cody wants to benefit from a dumb move. Don't go it Nancy. Generally speaking you have one of the best three hulls ever made. Keep it.

Jon Clay,

Thanks for the props. That is my boat that you linked too. I would no doubt stay with your Super Sport. It will by far put out a better wake than the Moomba (yes, I have ridden behind both boats). You could turn your Super Sport into a Super Air with only a few thousand dollars. Add a tower and ballast now and then keep adding things as you get the money. I love my Super Sport and my wake will compete with most boats on the water today!

I have an 03 LS and the only reason my family got the direct drive over the LSV is that the rest of my family does slalom and barefoot just as much as I wakeboard. Its a good boat but the Super Sport is going to be a much better boat even if it is 6 years older just for the wake like every one else has mentioned. I put 2,000+ over the stock ballast in it and the wake is decent but is really sensitive if one side is heavier than the other... all in all keep the Nautique and throw an original Flight Control tower and 1500 in ballast and you wont have an regrets imo.
