If you have 2, 4 Ohm speakers, and a 2 channel amp and you want to bridge the speakers onto the amp, can you do that and it still be a 4 Ohm load??

sound off...

No if you hook up in parrallel it will be 2 ohms or 8 ohms in series,
use this equation to find out omage; (1/ohm first speaker)+(1/ohm 2nd speaker) =; then (1/result)

your best bet without overloading the amp and/or speaker is to connect each speaker to each channel

RG thanks for the input. I thought that it would probably be a 2 Ohm load(from the amps perspective) but wanted to get verification from someone who know's what their talkin bout.

I currently have it installed w/ each speaker as a channel on the amp.

No problem, its better to be safe than have a issue with overpowering/overheating which can melt the internal coil winding in the speaker or burn out one of the driver mosfets in the amp.

Is your amp only rated at max 4ohms?
