Tring to calibrate the speedo on the XLV I just picked up, new to inboards....

The dealership said when running at 3k RPM's, that it would equal 30 MPH?? We were boarding at 2900 RPM. There's no way we were going near 30MPH, 24-25 Maybe ....

Anyone know what RPM = what MPH so I can calibate it??? The manual just talks about calibrating it by distance and not RPM .....

rpm = mph is never an exact science
borrow or buy a cheap gps and get it set to the right speed

dont forget to take into account the water speed/flow in either direction (IE: river may flow at 10mph)
