I have a 15' Boston Whaler Sport (1981 hull) with a 70hp Yamaha on it. I cant say its the best wakeboarding boat but it by all means has enough power and we just swamp it to get a bigger wake. My issue right now is that I am forced to use a ski bridal off the back of the boat and is challenging to get air with. I have seen many different models of ski pylons and was wondering if any one had a opinion on any of them. Particually from West Marine becuase I can get a 20% discount through my marina. My plan was to monunt it on the floor and have supports to the transom. Thanks for the help!

It's tough on a Whaler but you can do it, Swivel-eze makes the products you need to be looking at.

Outrage,

I used to use a 16' Boston Montuak when I taught waterskiing at Club Med in Tahiti, Boston's make a pretty darn good tow platform. It's not too easy getting equipment in Tahiti so we U-bolted a 1.5" x 6' gas pipe to the seat with a ring welded to the top then ran a rope to the bow eye for support. Shortly after install we had to build bracing (rebuild) for the seatback. This was a very beat up boat so adding u-bolts was not a big issue. We also made a barefoot boom in similar fashion. Just wanted to let you know it works. We ran a 140hp Suzuki outboard, it screamed. You might want to run a sack up front to help distribute the weight more evenly to give the wake a little more ramp.
