Awsome setup! What are the lights under the swim platform? It looks like you have several.

9 sets of leds. Covers 180 degrees and shines in the water.

Also did a black light setup

Do you know how many LED's you can run in on one line without having a voltage drop? And do you have to install a relay on the line?
Old     (bigasswake)      Join Date: Jan 2004       02-24-2004, 2:21 AM Reply
I have 30 different fixtures in my boat all ran off of 1 set of wires. No need for a relay.

Just for your info: It takes 24 led fixtures(96 bulbs/diaodes)to equal 1 amp. And that is the most powerfull light that I make(blacklight). 1 neon fixture takes 6amps transformers, glass tubesand no tollerence to water

Neil, are you selling these lights? If so, what would you charge for 10, 20, and 30 fixtures? Can you put a close up pic of what your lights look like? Hard to tell from the lights in that jar. Just looking to get started on a project like this.

Also, please give us more information on those transom lights.

Im going to take some pics of the transom lights right now

I un-oiled the platform before the install

The reason I un-oiled the platform is so I could use mounting tape to get the angles I wanted with the lights.

So I take it these are waterproof lights? Are these lights facing back towards the boat, or out behind the boat? How well does it light up the water at night? That would definitely add some bling bling to the night surfing sessions.

100% water proof. Lights will aim out into the water.

I will go out and take pics as soon as it stops raining here in texas.

That is one awsome setup, I am picking up my new boat in a week or two and have been buying all kinds of LED's. I showed my wife and she said "now I understand! Your NOT the only idiot!"
......I think she really dug the blue.
Again, Great Pics!

got any pics taken a bit further away (like from outside the boat), so we can get the full effect. Nice job though.

Old     (bigasswake)      Join Date: Jan 2004       03-01-2004, 10:21 PM Reply
Blue lights just for the platform, Or the entire boat?

stephen (scubastevebps: The whole light setup ran $300 for all the lights in the boat and the swimplatform. Plus it took me about 3 days to install the lights.

Email me if you need any info neil@smithwarenetworks.net

Whay did you use for a plug on the Swimplatform in order to remove it from your boat? If you don't have a plug were did you run the wire through the boat?
