Just wanted to let you guys know that Illinois now has a cable park.... The Liquid Edge installed one in July. Just found out and thought I would pass it along...it may or may not have been discussed yet.

This is going to sound stupid, but what skill level are cable parks meant for? I just learned to wakeboard last year and had very few chances to ride this year; in other words I lack skills. I don't want to hit up a cable park just to find out that its purely meant for mid range to high end riders.

Every one of my pulls has either sold their boat, or gotten a girlfriend that hates boating. I need an alternative to riding behind a boat.

And....still not close enough. Closer, but still not close enough. I'm thinking my limit is probably about two to two and a half hours away before I would consider it worthwhile.

Matt, if you are ever wanting to ride behind a boat bad enough to take an hour drive, I have an X15 in LaPorte, IN and I'm always looking for a 3rd. It's already put away for the year, but it comes back out in late April.

Matt - cable parks are for all ski levels. Beginner to Pro's. I know for a fact that Aacadia has had rider get their first exposure to wakeboarding at the park. The crew is absolutely awesome. Plus the fun box at Aacadia is a great learning tool since it is wide and easy to ollie on.

Since we're talking about this region, I want to add that nordic mountain has a 2.0 also. If the IL parks were full on cable systems, I'd have to check it out. So I'll stick with the nordic set up for now.

Snow,

I love the setup at Nordic. I get a crew together and head down there a few times a summer. Scott and the crew down there are just a blast!
