Well...my amazing wife found a used drysuit online and bought it for me for Christmas. The guy she bought it from claimed not to know the size but was sure that it was either a L or XL...either of which would have worked for me. Well, turns out its a Medium...and while I can get it on and zipped up, the neck seal is WAY too tight and my shoulders are too broad for it so mobility is limited, particularly if I put on my vest under it.

I've never worn a drysuit before, but after trying this one on, I'm not sure I could handle having the seal around my neck for any long period of time even on a suit that's the right size...do others find the neck seals to be unbearable?

Instead, I think I'll be on the market for a 4/3 wetsuit asap. I need to get back out on the water.

Planned to go hit the delta today...but instead I'm moping around the house...and surfing wakeworld.

If anyone's on the market for a used drysuit...check the classifieds!

our neck was too tight for us so we cut it a bit and it works better. Wear a comp vest that will be less bulky

Sorry to hear that... If you can deal with the suit being a little snug, you can stretch the neck seal out with a bowl or paint can or whatever and it should loosen up... or send it in to a drysuit repair shop and they can replace the neck seal with a larger one. My neck was tight and my ankles were too tight on my drysuit and i just streched them over a few days and then it fit perfect. you can also trim it down but u gotta mack sure u leave no nicks or jagged cuts in the seal or that spot will be torn easily.

I've heard that you stay pretty much dry in a 4/3... never tried one (I'm tall and skinny and i've never found a wetsuit that truely fit me right). but i love my drysuit something about being able to wear warm layers underneath is awesome.

I guess what I'm saying is that you may have a salvageable situation... plus its nice having a drysuit onboard so ur buds who are less cold water gear fortunate can come along and board too.

DO NOT cut the neck seal if it's an Oniell Boost suit! You'll ruin it. The neck seals are tight but when you are up and riding you really don't notice it too much. I agree with trying a comp vest, that may help. Or sell/trade for a large.
