eclipse 8053 head units

hi,

i have gotten some questions on eclipse head units over time and i recently ran across this on a differnt forum for eclipse 8053 head units ( i am not the seller nor affiliated). if you are running zapco amps, this unit work incredibly well

i bring this up because this is one of the best head units ever made in terms flexability, outputs, preamp, dac, and sound quality. though they are discontinued, they are sought after and highly regarded (btw, i own 2 of them)

to do better you are looking at $1500 and up..

another reason why i mention this deck, it has 8v/16 preamp outs that have crossovers/time delay AND another set of full output/ full range outputs (great for tower speakers. allows for seperate volume control beside the deck when used with a external controler like pac or symbilink)

there are a couple drawbacks..

-no mp3 (has digital input and aux input)
-no xm
-no hardwired remote (does have ir..use with a pac repeater and your set)..

the setup with this is a little more involved but easier in some regards (unit works great with zapco symbilink)
