What have people done to anchor/secure a boat lift to lake bottom?

I installed mine with it sitting on wide concrete blocks so it doesn't sink into the mud; therefore, keeing the lift reasonably level despite the soft base.

Its a nice install... but... I just realized the first time I try to put the boat back on the lift in rough water... I will probaly end up pushing the lift around and off the blocks.

I dont want to set the legs in the mud (although it will anchor it) and have to constantly adjust cables and re-level the lift... so... what has anyone else done in this situation?

Thanx for any +ve, helpfull comments.

Hey, Ours(shoremaster)has pretty wide feet that are adjustable by pulling a pin and raise/lower the leg. We to had some pretty good mud at one corner and shimed it up with a flat stone, the lift is so heavy even in rough docking sit. it hasn't settled or moved at all.

My lift will actually hang from the rafters of our boathouse.

The posts that make up the vertical support for the boathouse are actually 8x8 Pressure treated columns that are driven into the lake bed. Maybe you can do something like that and attach your lift to them?

We have about the softest and deepest mud you can find at my end of the lake. My lift and most of the others are simply mounted to 1" ply wood on each footing. The plywood is about 3' X 3' on each leg. The wood will last for many years. Sunstream actually seels special aluminum footings for mud as an option with their lifts
