I learned up to a whirlybird behind my parent's outboard Bayliner with an old ski-bob (filled with water) for ballast and a home built extended pylon. I can still do everything behind that boat today.

hey, if it gets you out there having fun, rock on. I'm not really bagging on bayliners, just thought it was kinda funny. Lots of folks got their first pull or learned a few tricks behind one. nothing wrong with that.

Yea, I learned bs 180s on a bayliner. Nothing wrong with them, I just thought it would be funny since all the other 'pride' posts.

hahahahahaha i've got a bayliner just like the one in the pic that the customers son ran up on a shore of nothing but rocks. lol its DESTROIED. its just waiting for the insurance company to come get it.

HA. I would have had to post here a few weeks ago with some XT pics..
Now I am glad to say that all the new pics belong in the CC pride post.
But when we got the Bayliner you could beat it. I got my first ever pulls behind a toon. So a boat with a wake and a tower was the •••••••• 2 years till I started to kinda exceed its limits.(It only had the 4 banger and didn't like fat sacks)

Whatever gets you on the water is what you should have pride for.

Yeah, its the most fun I've had w/o affording an inboard or vdrive....sigh, maybe someday

Well, they are not really built that great, and the wake is never consistent no matter how/where you put weight IMO. It is made to break through rough water with its ultra deep v. Still though, it has been a fun boat until I can afford that v drive.

There are just so many Bayliners and quite a few are bathtubs so they become the standard reference for "the other" boat. Just like McDonald's gets the butt of food jokes.


I've a number of friends that have had them but they would not be my first choice. Of course I do eat at McDonald's so who am I to talk.

OK so here it is, under $14k, never a problem, can go for 3 days on $50 gas and the kids have $60k of fun. But with that said a V-drive is in the not to distant future.

My folks have one just like cosmocats. It's what I learned to ride on, first with no pylon or weight. We eventually got an extended pylon and a couple fat sacs. It was a great boat and is still running strong.

i have one with about 1100# of sacs 19 pitch high 5 prop and tower. it works well for the level that i ride at. but i would love to have a v-drive also.

doesn't that thing already have like a 1500lb weight limit?

i thought that was just a guideline.

Sure its no Nautique or Malibu, but my kids dont know the difference.. not to mention I am no hardcore wakeboarder who needs the massive wake. our family has alot of fun on it. We have never had a problem with ours and its cheap to use.
