Nick,

I live in the Sierras and the Titan had some issues pulling at the 6000-8000 ft elevation. I was either at 2500 rpm and loosing speed or at 4500-5000 rpm and pulling away from people. Dont get me wrong, I loved the Titan but it never inspired confidence while towing. All that power comes at a price, fuel economy. I could never ave over 14mpg just driving and somewhere in the 9-10 range towing. I live 2 miles from the freeway and could actually watch the gas gauge go down just to the freeway entrance. I never towed with the F150 or the 1500 so I cant compare. The other issue was tranny heating. It would heat up, not extreme, everytime the road turned upward. IMO a truck that bills itself as the ultimate half ton tow vehicle should not heat the tranny while towing just over half its rated capacity. I always said that it would be a much better tow vehicle at lower altitudes. I just dont like to work my engines as hard as I was having to work the Titan to get the perceived performance out of it. I'm glad your family enjoys your Titan and I'm sure it will provide you with many years of reliable service. Hope that answers your questions.
