Boat- 1996 Ski Nautique 176

Hello- seems that whenever I fill the gas tank full, it wants to spill out through vent whether it is on the trailer going down the road or in the water. It is starting to make a mess of the gel coat and the back corner of the trailer. Has anyone encountered this problem and/or solved it? Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks alot, RD

Maybe try not to fill it up to high. Listen to the sound from the air vent when you are filling up.

They make an air vent whistle, that becomes quite when the fuel reachs a certain level.

You would think by now all boat manufacturers would have gas spills solved, but they don't
