Anyone know of any reason that I should use marine specific parts to do a tune up to my 96 Tige? I was just planning on plugs, wires, rotor/cap, etc.

There is no need for marine parts. However, due to the type of ignition, you may only be able to put marine parts on. Say for the cap and rotor. You should not need new wires.

I would also recommend changing the: Oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and tranny fluid.

Yeah, I kind of figured the cap & rotor might be special. What you are saying confirmed my thoughts. Thanks Robb

Cap, Rotor, plug wires are not marine specific if you can get an auto store to match them up.
