President's Day Weekend Camping/Wakeboarding

Ok, here I go again... We are planning a weekend camping trip for President's Day Weekend (Friday, Feb 17th - Monday the 20th). We were looking at Camp Far West but are open to other ideas (Orwood?)

Before getting too much into detail, first we need to see who would be interested in going.

Can I see a show of hands?

Were in for Sat day. Eric is checking tonight to see if he can get Sun night off. If he can, we are in for Fri-Sun!! Unfortunately, I have to work on Monday.

COOL! That would be great if he could get off.

Count me in for late Friday night thru Sunday (day) Like Misty I have to work on Monday. Wish I could <cough,> but the 21st is my b-day and I plan to <cough,> to the slopes.

Wish I could, I will be in San Deigo for work meetings. Have fun!

I may be up for a day trip if the temps warm up some. Whats the water level at?

Actually, Camp Far West is at 100% right now (if not more than that).

Unfortunately the campsites aren't optimal for this time of year so we are looking into Orwood. Stay tuned for more information.

I wish i could go! Why are all these trips on days i have to work! I'm working 7pm-7am both the 18th and 19th so that makes the 17th and 20th out as well! I think i may have to get my priorities straight... Wakeboarding before anything else... That sounds about right.

Sherman/Renee: Are we in for Orwood this weekend? Or has it been changed to Camp Farrrrrrrrrrrrr West?

We are waiting for the lady from Orwood to come back to town. Scott has not been able to get in touch with her. He says he is on it and it should not be a problem. He will let us know as soon as he talks to her.

I hope to know something soon. I have been checking every day

Gary: we will make sure to stay stocked on the crackers and 7-up for your poor little belly of yours....

Man us peeps in Reno are sure getting the itch to ride. Sure would like to join if I can get my boat over the hill.

Thanks to Scott and his connections, we are on for Orwood.

The cost will be $25 a night. Pay Scott upon arrival. RV hook ups are available, not sure how many so be sure to let us know you are coming early.

I'm planning on taking Friday off so we may head down Thursday evening after work or Friday morning.

This sounds like a fun trip !

We might not have our kids, so we'll possibly have a bed for you Howie. No newleyweds here - LOL!!!!

Gary's doing much better, as some of you may have seen him at the boat show. Although, still on crutches, he seems to be doing really good!

Stacy - so glad to hear G-man is doing better. I didn't make it the boat show so I didn't see him. I've been swamped at work and preparing for the Utah Trip! I leave Wednesday at 6am.

Renee, I'll be out to party with you guys Friday night and to ride Saturday afternoon. However because I'm only going to be there a night and I only live a few minutes away I won't be tenting it. I have to baby sit my nephew on Saturday night and Sunday is his birthday party....the big 3. The family might disown me if I didn't babysit or show up to the party.

Howie, you are more than welcome to stay in the trailer with us.

Cody probably wont be there.

I think that covers the currently reserved spots. If anyone else plans to camp for the weekend (RV or tent) we need to know ASAP so we can reserve more spots.

We will definitely have a pot luck on Saturday night for anyone wanting to participate. We will need appetizer's, main dishes, side dishes and dessert.

I'll start... Tate & I will bring a dessert.

P.S. Rice crispy treats will be on hand in the Viehmann RV all weekend while supplies last.

we will have the supply of hot cocoa and peppermint schnapps!!!

for the potluck, we can do some side dish.

Misty, Glad to see Eric got the time off. It will be a blast.

What are we doing about boats? Who is planning on bringing theirs? As most all of us own a boat I don't think we will be needing them all.

Tom just called to say he won't be able to make it for the President's Day camping weekend. He just realized he will be in a class for his contractor's license test which is on Tuesday. They may be able to come down Sunday after class and stay the night (if he doesn't have to work on Monday) or just for Sunday to ride.

Well, I was hoping to have some of this great weather continue thru next weekend, but alas, it doenst look that way. It will be great thru this weekend, then starts to cool off again, and looking at rain next Thursday, and possibly beyond that. What is it with our luck and weather when we camp at Orwood?????

Oh well, we still have a blast, and thats all that matters!!!

We will just keep our fingers crossed that the weather system planned for next weekend either moves faster or slower than anticipated.

Scott, do you know if the firewood we left behind on New Year's is still there? We need to bring some more.

Also, Tate and I are planning to bring our boat. That way "Gimpy" can just relax and keep that leg up and not have to worry about driving. Other than Scott, will anyone else be bringing their boat?

Just check the extended forecast... as of today, it shows no rain until Sunday. This is much better than the forecast a couple days ago. Keep those positive thoughts coming!

thanks for the invite, you can count me in. I will be tenting it most likely. Just let me know if I need to bring anything other than beer and lots of food. I will be bringing my boat (whether we need it or not).

Ok, providing Tim will bring the meat, we can plan on some salads, garlic bread (Misty), appetizers, vegetables, and maybe I'll make some chili, since from what I hear, it'll be a little chilly. So let's start a list as to who is bringing what. The dessert is covered, I'll bring that...
